Global Missions

At Central, we take missions very seriously. Jesus calls us to preach the Gospel to every nation, tribe and language, and so we have been in an exciting season where each year we are raising the percentage of our annual budget that goes toward the missionaries we support. There are quite a few global strategic partners that we team up with in sharing the Gospel and we feel it would be a disservice to them if we simply had a long list of the missions we support. On this page, we will rotate through the organizations that we feature periodically so that each of our global outreach partners can have more of a spotlight. If you are interested in hearing even more about these missionaries or any of our other global partners, please feel free to ask us about them! We love our brothers and sisters that we share in ministry with around the world, and we love talking about them too!

  • Blackbox International

Over 1.2 million children are trafficked each year for sexual exploitation. Conservative estimates say that of that number, over 400,000 are boys. Blackbox was created to change those figures. Established in 2010, Blackbox International is a faith-based, Christcentered, not-for-profit organization that exists to holistically rehabilitate sextrafficked boys age 16 and under. Blackbox provides the critical aftercare component for boys rescued from sex trafficking to help them find healing from their past, joy in the present, and purpose for their future. The Blackbox team believes those who are rescued will be restored from the hurt and confusion that has been inflicted upon them and one day become men who will change the world.

A dedicated Board of Trustees, US-based staff and volunteers provides leadership for the Blackbox ministry. The most important people, a team of Dominican National Staff, lead the implementation of our holistic aftercare in our safe home.

God is a God of justice and wants his people to make a difference in the world, standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves and sharing what we have with those who have nothing. Social justice is one of the fundamental issues in the Bible. God created the world and humankind, and the life and happiness of all His people are His deepest desires. The Bible brings to center stage continually those who are oppressed and turn to God in prayer: Palms 9–10; 22, Jeremiah 22:3, Micah 6:8, Isaiah 1:17.

  • Mustard Seed Church, Japan

Starting new churches is the very best way to reach people in our generation. Realizing this, Central is partnering with two Mustard Seed Churches and the Mustard Seed Association in Japan.

In January of 2010 a team of church planters launched Mustard Seed Christian Church in the upstairs of a small sports bar in Nagoya, Japan. That first Sunday 37 people attended. The church has been steadily growing ever since. Over the past 3 years, Mustard Seed Christian Church has baptized new believers and raised up a small group of committed Christians who regularly attend and volunteer with the church. In the fall of 2011 the church sent out a group to start a new church in Osaka, Japan. Two other Mustard Seed churches have been planted in Kobe and Kyoto.

The name “Mustard Seed” comes from a parable Jesus told in the Bible. Matthew 13:31-32 – He put another parable before them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is larger than all the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.”

Andy Rodriguez and his wife Jenny work with the Nagoya church, where Andy serves as lead pastor. Ethan and Audrey Greer serve on staff at the new church plant in Kyoto.

  • Youth With A Mission

Youth With A Mission is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups, and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. Also known as YWAM (pronounced “WHY-wham”), “YWAMers” unite in a common purpose to know God and to make Him known. YWAM began in 1960, with the focus of getting youth involved in global missions. Today, they still focus on youth but are also involved with people aged 9 to 90. Currently YWAM works in more than 1,100 locations in over 180 countries, with a staff of over 18,000. The eighteen Foundational Values of YWAM express the unique family characteristics of YWAM. Their beliefs are a call to love, worship, obey God and to love and serve His Body, the Church, and to present the whole gospel for the whole person throughout the whole world. YWAM’s many ministries give room for many expressions of faith, including justice, church planting, the arts, media, family ministry, business, medicine, and much more. From a young man’s dream in 1956 to a global ministry today, YWAM’s story has been one of God’s grace and God’s miraculous provision. Central’s relationship with YWAM initially began with our own Candice Crawford. Candice joined one of the world-wide traveling evangelistic teams called Impact World Tour. During her time with Impact World Tour she met and married Marty Emmett. Together they serve YWAM in Marty’s home country in New Zealand. Marty and Candice are actively engaged in taking the Good News around the world through large crusades, training events and discipleship programs.
