Our Beliefs

Everyone's beliefs are important to them, and here at Central, our beliefs are at the absolute core of who we are. Everything else flows from what we believe.

What we believe about:

  • God

We believe there is one God, eternally existing in three distinct persons: the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and each possesses all of the attributes of God. God is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe and everything in it.

  • Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross for the forgiveness of sin, and was raised to life three days later. He ascended into heaven and will return again. Jesus is the only way to truly know God, and no one comes to the Father except through faith in him.

  • The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit works in people to convict of sin, righteousness, and the judgment to come. Those who receive Christ as their Savior also receive the gift of the Holy Spirit to live inside them where He serves as our comforter, counselor, teacher and advocate. His indwelling is what enables Christians to live a godly life and overcome the attacks of the enemy, Satan. Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for the salvation of lost and sinful people.

  • The Bible

Our foundation is based firmly upon the Bible as our final authority on issues of faith and as a guide to living. The Bible is divinely inspired by God, without error, given to man so that we may know and understand the truth of God and His love for us.

  • Humanity

We believe all people are made in the image of God but have been separated from Him because of sin. Although people have tremendous potential for good, we all fall short of God’s glory and are in need of a Savior. Children who are not aware of their sinful nature and the need for a Savior are not separated from God.

  • Salvation

Salvation is not something that can be purchased or earned. It is a free gift from God provided by Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and is received through faith in the saving power of the blood of Jesus. That faith is expressed through confessing a personal belief in Jesus as the one and only Savior, and baptism by immersion in water.

  • The Church

We believe The Church is the community of Christ-followers and is the body of Christ on earth. It is the means God has chosen to share the good news of Jesus to all people, and to teach and care for those who have heard the good news. It is not a building or location.

  • Eternity

We believe every person will either exist eternally in union with God in heaven through following Jesus Christ or eternally separated from God in hell by our refusal to follow Him.
