Connection and Discipleship
Job Summary
To further the mission of the Church by effectively connecting and engaging church members and guests in large group gatherings, small groups, and Bible studies while providing opportunities for service through volunteer ministries at Central and outreach opportunities in the community. The goal of our Connection and Discipleship ministry is to equip the body for works of service through involvement in our discipleship programs, ministry opportunities and evangelism.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. General staff responsibilities:
Engage in pastoral responsibilities, as assigned, to include teaching, performing weddings and funerals, pastoral counseling, assisting in worship services, communion, baptisms, child dedications and hospital visits.
Assist in establishing ministry goals and objectives, and individual tactics that support the mission and vision of the Church.
Recruit, train, schedule, equip and supervise volunteers for the ministry.
Propose and administer annual budgets.
2. Connections, Discipleship, and Equipping:
Oversee, direct and execute strategic plans to maximize the number of Central members engaged in ministry at Central. This includes our large-groups, small groups, Bible studies, ministries and evangelism. • Actively connect new members to Central’s ministries and outreach efforts.
Assist pastors and ministry leaders to recruit and equip volunteers for ministry.
Work with the pastoral team to plan and execute involvement in discipleship programs including age-graded youth and children’s activities, men’s and women’s ministries, bible studies and small groups.
Create opportunities for affinity and service groups. Provide oversight for church ministries who do not have assigned pastoral leadership.
Maintain accurate records of Central members, ministry opportunities, and member involvement.
3. Community Involvement
Mobilize the church body to serve in local missions, ministry and service projects.
Serve as the Point of Contact for Church Community Events in the River Valley.
Coordinate Central's involvement in disaster response and efforts to assist the community in times of need.
Actively seek opportunities to work with other churches to advance the Kingdom of God in the River Valley.
4. Guest Services and Guest Follow-Up
Oversee Connect Central.
Provide oversight for Frontline Ministry. This includes leaders and volunteers. Provide oversight of Café Central, Door Greeters, Check-In Desk Volunteers, Parking Lot Attendants, Guest Services and follow-up.
Create, implement and oversee system for identifying, contacting, and connecting guests to ministries, ministry leaders and church leadership

Performance and Evaluation
Success in the position will be measured according to the performance assessment tool approved by the staff and elders. Performance will be evaluated in relevant areas, including but not limited to: completion of ministry goals and individual tactics, communication, teamwork, leadership, creativity, responsibility, self-motivation, attitude, and potential for growth.
