Worship is directional.  We are always worshipping one thing or another, but the direction of our worship changes as we turn our attention and our focus to different things.  Sometimes we worship our jobs or money or even other people, but we believe that right worship occurs when we are worshiping our Lord.  Central is dedicated to facilitate and encourage the body of Christ to be true worshipers of the One True God.  Worship Arts encompasses how we respond creatively to our Creator.  The arts give us an avenue of expressing our worship in a very really way.  The Lord has gifted each and every one of us with the ability to express our worship one way or another.  Different people have different giftings and there are several different teams at Central that volunteers are able to serve on with these gifts.  If you are interested in becoming a part of the worship arts team here at Central, fill out the form at the bottom of this page!

We gather every Sunday morning as a body of believers, and one of the big things we do is sing our adoration and praise to our King.  Music is one of the best expressions of worship as it allows us to show our love for the Lord with our heart, soul, mind and strength, which is how we are commanded to live (Deut. 6:5; Matt. 22:37; Mark 12:30).  Singing is not just a physical action.  Though it requires a mouth and lungs, it engages our hearts as we respond with emotion to what God has done for us.  However, it goes so much deeper than a simple emotional response when we realize that the words we sing are filled with truth about who God is and who we are because of what He has done for us.  The songs we sing must be filled with accurate theology and in line with what scripture tells us.  Music is a memory device and many times our theology ends up being defined by the music we listen to and sing.  We take care to make sure that the words we sing each Sunday are filled with truth from scripture.  All scripture ultimately points to our salvation in Christ and so the songs we sing focus primarily on this Gospel message, which brings freedom for our souls through salvation.

The way we communicate today is very different from how the early church communicated.  We use different technologies at our gatherings to help us to communicate more effectively the Gospel message.  Whether it be a sound system, a light board, a computer, a camera or anything else, these tools have become  a vital part of Sundays at churches all over the world, and here at Central, that is no different.

Media is a newer area of the Worship Arts ministry at Central.  Graphic design, photography, and videography have become more and more valuable tools in our worship and communication, and are a great way to express our creativity.  We use these mediums to communicate different things from testimonies to announcements.

Throughout scripture we see that a common response to the Lord is to dance.  At Central, we have a team that does just that.  This team works up special dances for different specific times.  Sometimes words fail to describe our response to Jesus and dance comes from an overflow of joy and gratitude for what He has done for us!

There’s nothing actually green about this team, we just liked the name.  It has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?  Actually, this name comes from a play on words.  When people describe environmental awareness, the color green comes up because it relates back to nature.  The Green Team at Central is in charge of our environment.  We typically will do different designs with our stage as a backdrop for the different sermon series’ we have.  These designs become great memory devices in helping us to connect with the topic at hand on a different level.  Architecture has long been a catalyst for worship in the church.  Statues have been sculpted, glass has been stained, even the physical shape of the room of some of the older cathedrals pointed to the Gospel message.  The Green Team works as Central’s modern equivalent to this for our church.
